The Problem
For an extended period, our neighbourhood has experienced persistent and intensive noise from dogs left unsupervised in gardens and on balconies, particularly on Laskou Street.
This occurs throughout the day and late into the night, including during Greece's legally mandated quiet hours.
The noise is constant, pervasive, and seriously impacts the daily lives of residents on both Laskou and Blessa Streets.

đ Documentation Scale
We now have over 2000 hours of audio recordings documenting this ongoing disturbance.
Impact on Residents
- Sleep disruption: Continuous barking past midnight and resuming early morning
- Work interference: Difficulty concentrating and making professional calls (especially for remote workers)
- Stress & health: Long-term noise exposure negatively affecting mental and physical health
- Quality of life: Inability to enjoy home and outdoor spaces
What We're Seeking
We address dog owners with respect and understanding. Some of our neighbours are already making efforts to reduce the problem caused by their dogs.
We are not asking for the removal of animals. We recognise that barking is natural behaviour. However, responsible pet ownership requires:
- Keeping dogs indoors during quiet hours
- Supervising animals when in outdoor spaces
- Immediate intervention when there is persistent barking
- Seeking professional training where there is a recurring problem
- Respecting neighbours' right to peaceful living
